DESCRIPTION OF TECHNOLOGY METHODS OF RENOVATION OF PIPE LINING HARDENED ON SITE (CIPP)- CURING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF UV RAYS

in accordance with PN-EN 752-5; 13689 and PN-EN ISO 11296-1, 11296-4

COMPONENTS OF THE TUBULAR LINING DUE TO THE MATERIAL

In the case of a CIPP product cured under the influence of UV rays, polyester (UP) or vinyl ester (VE) resins can be used, depending on the aggressiveness of the medium. The carrier can be fiberglass or fiberglass with felt.

EQUIPMENT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF PIPE LINING

  • duct cleaning device (pressure car)
  • remote-controlled channel inspection camera
  • remote-controlled device for milling the inside of the ducts
  • UV curing kit
  • immersion device (winch)
  • device for calibration of pipe lining
  • by-pass devices (pumps, hoses)
  • test equipment

PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION

ASSESSMENT OF THE TECHNICAL CONDITION OF THE CHANNEL

Before starting the renovation, the pipeline is cleaned using the hydrodynamic method – a device for cleaning the ducts built on the truck. After that, an inspection of the pipeline is carried out with a remote-controlled camera. Analysis of the video of the channel review is the basis for drawing up a detailed computer report on the technical condition of the pipeline. Based on the data from the report, a given channel is classified depending on its technical condition.

SELECTION OF THE METHOD OF REPAIR

Depending on the degree of damage or destruction of the canal and its classification into a given group, the type of technique for renovating the canal is selected. After assessing the technical condition of the canal, an analysis of geodetic data, the height of groundwater in relation to the foundation of the canal, traffic load and other factors affecting the selection of parameters of the applied lining should be carried out. On this basis, a suitable CIPP pipe can be selected in the design phase. Based on the known size of the Young module (E), characteristic of the proposed carrier, the designer selects the thickness of the CIPP lining.

PIPE SOAKING

The pipe is soaked in resin under controlled conditions using vacuum.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT TO THE CONSTRUCTION SITE

The resin-soaked pipe is stored in darkened rooms isolated from UV rays. From the place of storage, it is delivered to the construction site in containers or boxes that guarantee optimal transport conditions.

INSTALLATION

After decommissioning a given section of the canal, a slip film is pulled into its interior.
After securing the surface of the old canal above the manhole, a recessing device is set above the upper inspection well. The rope of the device is pulled to the lower inspection well and there a carpet is attached to its end. The pipe is introduced by the technique of pulling in with controlled speed and pulling force.
Then, a lock is installed to the specially adapted end of the pipe line, which is needed to install the tube trolley assembly, and a pressure line is connected, through which air is supplied with increased pressure. This is to calibrate the position of the pipe inside the renovated duct. After calibrating the pipe through the lock, a set of trolleys with mounted UV lamps is introduced into the pipe, which are adapted to emit a light wave of appropriate length. The process of curing the pipe lining takes place under the influence of UV radiation during the passage of trolleys with UV lamps carried out at a fixed speed, depending on the dimensions of the repaired channel and the thickness of the pipe used. The process continues until the curing of the pipe is achieved and is carried out in accordance with the internal instructions and procedure in accordance with ISO 9001.After
installation with the milling device, the tips in the extreme inspection wells are cut off and the connections are cut “blindly” in the hardened pipe.
During the installation, installation parameters such as internal pressure, continuous readings of the trolley speed are recorded from pyrometers (air temperature front rear and lining temperature).

CONTROL

TV INSPECTION

After installation and opening of the connections, a reception TV inspection is performed with recording on DVD or other storage media. At the same time, an inspection report is drawn up.

TESTS

In accordance with PN-EN ISO 11296-1, 11296-4 and PN-EN 1610

USE

The technology of renovation with CIPP linings cured with UV rays is one of the most modern and advanced and constantly developing, improving strength parameters as well as tightness parameters. The use of the highest quality materials allows to reduce the thickness of the lining and minimal narrowing of the light of the pipeline flow, and the system of controlling the curing parameters of the lining guarantees the highest quality product. The short time of the technological process of installation and hardening of the lining makes it recommended in urban areas.

Diameter range: DN200 – DN1700
Non-pressure sewerage networks, pressure water supply networks, sewage connections up to DN300

TROUBLESHOOTING

Faults are removed by means of a robot under the control of a camera and/or by pasting short pipes.
